So I was having an intense coversation with a friend about fashion sense and celebrities and the first person that came to mind was the lovely Tracee Ellis Ross.
The daughter of icon Diana Ross, she is the epitome of perfect style from the way she styles her hair to the unique heels on her feet. Her character as Joan on the once hit show Girlfriends has gave her much attention and recognition of her stylish sense, she get's it.
Besides her brilliant acting, she worked in the fashion industry as a model and contributing fashion editor for Mirabella and New York Magazine which comes to no surprise.
I completely adore this woman because her style is her own expressed with confidence, love it.

The sexy Amber Rose, girlfriend of Kanye West has expressed her ode to the bold and vibrant Grace Jones.

Amber has a lovely figure, this picture should be on every women's refrigerator for inspiration, hehe ;)

Plain Style

There are days when you just want to feel comfortable and with that I mean a plain top with a nice jean. You may spice it up with an edgy accessory and mean shoe game, to complete the overall look.

Well let me tell you, James Perse has the best comfortable shirts and tees. The best part is that it fits nicely on any top form of a woman. Though it's not the average price of a regular tee it definitely worth it.

Beneath the surface

When most people think of models they think they are living the life. While most models are successful and have a great career, there are some that are hiding their true identity. Today's high fashion model is as young as 15 years old with a career that only a mature indvidual can handle.
Daul Kim who was 20 years old had a blossoming career for a young girl from Seoul, South Korea. She was a regular on the runway of the industry's well respected designers and featured in many popular fashion magazines.

You would think a career surrounded by beautiful and creative people, traveling to the most breathtaking countries, luxury apartments in the richest cities, covering yourself in the best designers pieces, and being pampered is the life. But for Daul Kim it was lonely, depressing, and not her true self. She missed her mom, she missed her old life, old self and she ended it all by hanging herself in her Paris apartment November 19, 2009.

Many adored her by her catwalk and high fashion spreads, but deep within we knew nothing. Her personal blog expressed depression, and someone still trying to hang on to a life of hope. Though she was expressing feelings of help, no one listened and with that she is gone.

It's sad and with that this is my ode to her...she was colorful, creative, beautiful inside and out that had an ugly ending.

Rest In Peace

The Fashion community mourns the loss of one of the most well respected designers of the decade. It's devastating on how he died, but his talent will always remain current in Fashion today and forever.

He will be greatly missed.

The Perfect Man:

At first sight he is the perfect man for many women and then he opens his mouth and we melt as his London accent rolls roughly off his tongue. Idris Elba who is known to many as Stringer Bell from the popular HBO series The Wire is now Singer Bell. He is not only a brillant actor but also a pretty good singer. His vibe is the middle between Sade and Mos Def with his own splash of creativity.

He also DJ's at some of the industry's exclusive parties amongst his peers, so you could also add that to his list of talents. I love this man because he is unique, masculine, and a bit mysterious and that keeps the ladies yearning for more while he gets much respect from the men.
He is an actor, musician, DJ, and producer...give it up for Idris Elba.

I completely love Marc Jacobs In and Out.
So when I saw this multi color tweed jacket by Mr. Jacobs himself, I fell in love. Then I saw it on Solange while she was supporting this benefit along with Venus Williams and I thought she looked adorable and worked it well.

Stylishly Lost: Kelis

You couldn't mention an edgy, stylish artist within the last two years without mentioning the uber cute Kelis. Before Rihanna, Kelis was that chick that had the best hairstyle and unique sexy look. So I ask just like everyone else...What happened?

She currently had an adorable baby boy named Knight Jones with one of your "favorite rappers" Nasir Jones and to top it off; they are divorcing and it hasn't been peachy. I understand it's a New Year and since Lady Gaga came onto the scene with her strict out-of-the-box artistic forms/looks, I guess Kelis feels she can do the same.
But this Lady of Liberty looks has to stop and NOW!!! Can someone close to her please bring her back to reality, I miss the old Kelis. *sighs*

NYC Stylist:

Anyone who knows me well, knows I adore this woman and her posh fashion sense.

She is a well known costume designer and stylist for many of our fav music artists and music videos. June's clientele roster consist of Neyo, Sean Combs, Jamie Fox, Eva Pigford(Marcille), Missy Elliot, Jay Z, Mary J Blidge,  Mariah Carey, Chrisette Michele, and that's just to name a few. She has a colorful personality and is boldly blunt with what's hot and not quite right.

I like the fact that she illustrates a high and low look and with that I mean; a Birkin bag on the wrist, Christian Louboutin pumps on the feet, with a completed Zara piece. Its not just about high fashion designers, it's called Effortless Style with any brand and June Ambrose is the Professor with that lesson.
